McLaren Construction has secured a contract for the development of Nad Al Sheba Gardens Mall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Appointed by Shamal Holding, the contract is valued at approximately Dh80m ($21.77m).
Shamal Holding senior executive vice-president Craig Rooney said: “Nad al Sheba Gardens has been purposefully designed to provide an extraordinary living experience that re-establishes the essence of community through a safe and open environment.
“Our community mall is the fundamental cornerstone in this ethos, serving as a unique central location that supports contemporary living and allows every resident and visitor to flourish.”
The project encompasses the full construction and interior fit-out of a two-storey retail and food and beverage (F&B) shopping centre, spanning an area of approximately 12,600m².
The company will oversee all initial site work and civil engineering tasks, along with the construction of the superstructure.
This includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations and the fit-out of both public and back-of-house areas.
McLaren is further responsible for the execution of external roads, parking, and utility infrastructure.
Additionally, it will be in charge of hard landscaping and street design features that will integrate with the adjacent master plan and public spaces.
McLaren will deliver detailed architectural elements comprising a cantilevered roof canopy, along with circular hollow section columns.
The company will also install the facade and shading systems around the perimeter wall areas.
McLaren Construction preconstruction director Lyndon Hives said: "This unique community mall beautifully designed by local architectural practice LOCI, will bring both an important convenience through extensive retail partners as well as an enticing experience for all with exciting food and beverage options for the neighbourhood.”
In April this year, McLaren Construction was selected by British Land for the development of a multistorey logistics hub in Southwark, London, UK.
