Expo City Dubai has awarded four contracts for construction works on Mangrove Residences, a development project with apartments and townhouses in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The contracts have been secured by three UAE-based companies and one international company.
Expo City Dubai has entrusted USF, a local demolition company, with the task of clearing former Expo 2020 Dubai pavilions and other structures from the site designated for Mangrove Residences.
Proscape, a Dubai-based landscaping company, has been commissioned for infrastructure and clearance operations while International Foundation Group is set to manage the enabling and shoring works.
The groundwork phase has been completed, with more than 150,000m³ of earth excavated to prepare for the construction of the foundation, ground slab, and basement car park.
Shapoorji Pallonji International, an engineering and construction contractor, has been appointed to oversee the main construction activities.
Mangrove Residences is located within a five-minute walk of Expo City's attractions, forming a part of the three apartment clusters known as Expo Central.
The development features three residential towers, encompassing a mix of 450 one to three-bedroom apartments, four-bedroom loft apartments, and three-bedroom townhouses.
Expo City Dubai chief development and delivery officer Ahmed Al Khatib said: “We are making excellent progress on Mangrove Residences and are on schedule to welcome our first residents in the first quarter [Q1] of 2026, when homeowners can enjoy being part of a vibrant, sustainability-focused community, situated in the heart of Dubai’s growth corridor, and with Expo City’s offices, attractions and events at the doorstep.”
Sky Residences, another development within Expo Central, is also underway.
The third project in the Expo Central series, Sidr Residences, is expected to be introduced to the market by the end of this year.
