Larsen & Toubro's Energy Hydrocarbon division (LTEH) has secured two orders, one onshore and one offshore, from an unnamed major client in the Middle East.

The orders are valued between Rs10bn ($120.33m) and Rs25bn.

The onshore project involves the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of an enclosed ground-flare system.

It will also include the demolition of existing facilities, aimed at minimising visual impact on nearby residential developments.

Meanwhile, the offshore order will see LTEH undertake brownfield work, which includes upgrading shutdown systems on existing offshore platforms.

The order comes after LTEH received a letter of intent for a ‘Mega’ offshore project in the Middle East in November last year.

LTEH claims to be actively executing several domestic and international projects.

The company says it is focused on enhancing its regional presence by investing in local skills and talent, sourcing from local vendors, and engaging with local contractors based on a sustainable workload.

Structured under various business groups, LTEH provides comprehensive design-to-build engineering and construction solutions in the hydrocarbon sector to clients around the world.

These business groups include Onshore EPC, Modular Fabrication, AdVENT, and Offshore Wind Farm.

Last week, L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure Business secured a contract for the construction of a cable-stayed bridge across the Brahmaputra River in Assam, India.

The contract, granted by the Public Works Roads Department of Assam, entails building a 12.21km bridge aimed at directly linking the towns of Palashbari and Sualkuchi in the area.
