Kempes to support construction of National Archives building

The Swedish Tax Agency and the National Archives will serve as the main tenants of the property.

November 15 2023

Electrical installation company and Instalco subsidiary Kempes El has secured a contract to support the construction of a new National Archives building in Härnösand, Sweden.

The estimated worth of this contract for Instalco is Skr70m.

Kempes will be in charge of the installation of electrical, lighting, data, and access control systems at the site. Design and planning are also part of the project.

This new 34,000m² National Archives facility will encompass the archives and administrative offices.

The National Archives and the Swedish Tax Agency will be the main tenants of the property.

Nordic community builder Peab was contracted by real estate company Specialfastigheter to build this structure.

Kempes Kramfors CEO Rasmus Ödling said: “We recently collaborated with Peab on two very successful partnering projects and are happy to have won their confidence again. It is a large building, with not much space around it for storing materials, which means that the logistics will be extra challenging.”

Construction work is underway, and the project is set for completion in 2025.

The development is aiming to obtain the Sustainable Instalco Project certification.

In September 2023, other Instalco subsidiaries Uudenmaan LVI-Talo, Twinputki, and Milvent collaborated to carry out installation works at a new school in Helsinki, Finland.
