Homebuilder Honey has lodged plans for a new £46m ($56.5m) home development in Maltby, near Rotherham, UK.

The development, named Jet, will deliver 185 residences on a 39-acre site on Tickhill Road.

The site for the proposed development was acquired by Honey from Hargreaves Land, a domestic specialist in land and property development.

The site's acquisition amount has not been disclosed.

Hargreaves Land played a role in promoting the site, which included securing a greenbelt release in Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s Local Plan in 2018.

It also obtained outline planning permission earlier this year.

Hargreaves Land asset management head Andrew Johnson said: “Hargreaves Land has a longstanding and proud history working in the Maltby area and we are delighted to have completed the land sale with Honey.

“We are excited to see Honey’s proposals for the development of sustainable new homes for the local community and wish them well with the site.”

The project comprises a range of two to four-bedroom homes, alongside terraced, semidetached, and detached properties.

A total of 25% of these homes are allocated for affordable housing.

Every Honey home is said to come with standard features such as bifold doors, fully integrated kitchens, and boutique-style bathrooms with signature free-standing baths and full-height tiling.

Moreover, each property will have its own electric vehicle (EV) charging point.

The house types will comply with the UK's Future Homes Standard, which mandates that all new homes built from 2025 onwards must produce 75-80% less carbon emissions.

If the local authority grants approval, work is expected to commence immediately, with the site's first residents anticipated to move in as early as next year.

Additionally, Honey plans to contribute £786,000 ($999,191) to local initiatives that will benefit the Maltby community, contingent upon receiving planning approval.
