HG Construction has been selected as the main contractor for a build-to-rent (BTR) development, named BeckYard, in Leeds, England, UK.
The project, valued at £69m ($87.57m), is a collaboration with McLaren Living and funding partner Heim Global Investor, according to HG's latest LinkedIn post.
It is receiving grant support from West Yorkshire Combined Authority's Brownfield Housing Fund.
Situated in the South Bank Regeneration area, the scheme is aimed at revitalising a former car park site into a residential community.
Designed by Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher, it aims to deliver 375 new homes across two interconnected buildings, with heights ranging from 12 to 26 storeys.
The BTR scheme will offer amenities such as lounges, shared workspaces, a gym, events areas, and roof gardens.
It will also have 46 parking spaces and more than 250 indoor cycle parking spots.
BeckYard will further involve the creation of public realms and landscaping, featuring gardens with a diverse selection of plants.
HG CEO Adam Quinn was quoted by Construction Enquirer as saying: “We are delighted that McLaren Living has chosen HG as their partner of choice for their BeckYard scheme in Leeds.
“This is our fourth scheme for the McLaren Group and will strengthen the collaborative relationship between our two companies. BeckYard is HG’s third project in the Leeds area and we are looking forward to further contributing to the city of Leeds and more specifically the South Bank area with this fantastic scheme.”
Construction is anticipated to be completed in 2027.
In January this year, Studio HIVE appointed HG as the main contractor for a new purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Bristol.
