The City of Lincoln Council has contracted GRAHAM for the next phase of infrastructure works for the Western Growth Corridor development in the UK. 

The Western Growth Corridor project is said to have the potential to deliver up to 3,200 new homes as part of a sustainable urban extension.  

The latest awarded phase is designed to provide eastern access into the development and entails the construction of a new bridge, named Lincoln Bridge, over Tritton Road and the existing railway line. 

It also includes modifications to create a new signalised junction on Tritton Road and the existing Dixon Street junction.  

The project aims to improve connectivity and safety for vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians between the site and the surrounding communities. 

GRAHAM contracts director Alastair Lewis said: “We’re delighted to be leading on the next phase of works for City of Lincoln Council. The new bridge and associated works will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the development of the surrounding area, enhancing connectivity while driving economic growth. 

“With works of the ground we’re looking forward to playing our part in this project and working collaboratively with the client and key stakeholders”. 

Construction of the new Lincoln Bridge has commenced, with completion anticipated by early 2026.  

This development has been supported by a £20m ($26.74m) bid from national government funding, which will help establish an access route into the site from Tritton Road. 

Last week, GRAHAM commenced construction on what is said to be Belfast’s first Passivhaus-certified student accommodation on Dublin Road, Northern Ireland, commissioned by Queen’s University Belfast.
