GRAHAM has secured a contract for the two-stage design and construction of a luxury student accommodation project in Nottingham, England, UK.
Awarded by Bricks Group, the contract is worth £70m ($85.1m) and will see the transformation of the former Royal Mail sorting office into high-end accommodation for students.
Bricks CEO and founder Pete Prickett said: “It’s great to be introducing true student to guests in Nottingham. Really excited to extend our strong relationship with GRAHAM after our first successful project together in Salford.”
The building, originally constructed in the late 1960s, has reportedly been vacant for nearly two decades.
The Bendigo Building project is being operated by Bricks' 'true student' management platform, which has a brand portfolio of more than 7,000 beds across the UK.
It will provide easy access to Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham train station, and the city's high street, all located less than half a mile away from the site.
GRAHAM regional director Ronan Hughes said: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Bricks Group to deliver this development that represents a significant investment in student accommodation, contributing to the growth and vibrancy of Nottingham.
“We have similar experience in delivering major projects in the city and look forward to transforming an unused space into a thriving new community for Nottingham’s student population.”
GRAHAM will collaborate with a consultancy team to deliver this project, comprising the Bricks Development team and Abacus as the employer’s agent.
The team also includes HSP Consulting as civil and structural engineer; KKA as architect; and ME7 as mechanical and electrical engineer.
Last week, GRAHAM, in partnership with frame partner Hampsey, completed the construction of the third core of its student accommodation complex in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
