GRAHAM provides update on M25 Junction 28 project

Construction engineering company GRAHAM has provided key construction progress details about the M25 Junction 28 road improvement project in England, UK.

The M25 Junction 28 connects the A12 with the M25 while offering access to Brentwood via the A1023. At times of high traffic, up to 7,500 vehicles can pass through the junction roundabout.

The company has collaborated with UK National Highways on this project and has noted that the project has already achieved two key milestones, indicating significant progress on the overarching development plan.

The team has placed six 70m beams between the M25 and A12 for the new Grove Bridge.

These beams form the foundation of the Grove Bridge Road deck, anchoring the new loop road below Maylands Bridge and constituting part of the new A12 eastbound off-slip that is now being constructed.

To overcome overhead power cable issues, the team used specialist mobile cranes, known as modular transporters, for secure and quick installation.

Furthermore, installing eight large precast concrete parts for the new Weald Brook culvert was vital to broadening the M25 entrance slip lane.

The effort finished in advance of its schedule, resulting in an early reopening of the M25 and minimal interruption to travellers.

The ongoing programme is expected to enhance traffic flow in the area, resulting in a safer and more interconnected network for drivers.

The entirety of the improvement scheme is expected to be completed in mid-2025.
