Contractor GRAHAM has achieved a new milestone at The Loft Lines, a residential-led development in Belfast's Titanic Quarter, Northern Ireland.
The project, delivered on behalf of Watkin Jones and Legal & General, is intended to become the city's premier riverside development.
Watkin Jones, in partnership with Lacuna Developments, secured forward funding from Legal & General and the Clanmil Housing Association for the development in June 2023.
GRAHAM broke ground on the project last September and has now completed the first three of seven cores at the site.
GRAHAM Building North regional managing director Gary Holmes said: “Since ground-breaking in September 2023, we are really pleased to have progressed at pace with construction and the first three cores are now visible.
“The demand for new rental opportunities in Belfast continues to outstrip supply, and The Loft Lines will play an important role in bridging this gap.”
The development also includes contributions from a broad project team, including Todd Architects, Etive Consultants, RPS Group, and Tetra Tech, among others.
It will feature 778 mixed-tenure apartments, including 151 affordable homes and Belfast's first build-to-rent (BTR) homes.
The development's design will incorporate three residential blocks of varying heights, surrounded by planned external landscaping.
The Loft Lines will also offer commercial and community spaces, potentially housing bars or restaurants. It will also have boulevards, an urban woodland, a public square, and a waterfront promenade.
It will provide residents access to a variety of amenities such as flexible workspaces, sports facilities, and entertainment options.
The project is focused on sustainability, with an all-electric energy strategy that employs low-carbon heat pump technology.
Furthermore, the development encourages active travel by integrating dedicated cycle and walking paths that connect seamlessly to the city.
GRAHAM anticipates practical completion of the project in mid-2026.
