Graham has commenced renovation on the Jenners building on Princes Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, with plans to convert the structure into a mixed-use facility.

The Jenners building is a Category A-listed structure in Edinburgh, dating back to 1895. It saw further additions in the 1950s and 60s before closing in December 2020.

This new development will span 17,500m² across ten floors, featuring the original structure’s atrium.

The transformation plans, designed by David Chipperfield Architects, intend to revitalise the Jenners building.

The focus is on bringing back original features that have been lost over the decades.

The upper floors of the Jenners building will be transformed into a 90-room boutique hotel, with the addition of a café, bars, and restaurant spaces.

Graham Building North regional managing director Gary Holmes said: “Edinburgh is a globally renowned city with a thriving hotel and leisure sector that draws visitors from around the world. It is exciting to see such an ambitious development taking shape, marking a new chapter for one of Edinburgh’s most iconic buildings.

“Graham is proud to contribute to this historic transformation. Our team’s expertise will ensure a sensitive restoration as we work to bring the new vision for this landmark to life. We thank the owners of Jenners for believing in us and providing us with this great opportunity”.

Earlier this week, Graham celebrated a construction milestone with the topping out of Down High School on Strangford Road, Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.
