The Building Southern business segment of British construction company Galliford Try has delivered the new Bloxham Grove Academy in England, UK.

The new free school was handed over to The Gallery Trust on behalf of the country's Department for Education.

It is set to open for the new term starting in January 2024.

Bloxham Grove Academy is for children aged seven to 18 years who require cognitive, learning, social, emotional, or autism-spectrum requirements.

The Gallery Trust is a multi-academy trust aiming to deliver education and care for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It will manage the new school.

ADP Architecture designed this facility.

The classrooms at the site are organised into clusters that serve the restorative behaviour requirements of the students, including relaxing spaces alongside simple signs and imagery to minimise potential overstimulation.

In addition to these classrooms, the local community will have access to the building's new hall outside school hours.

Other on-site amenities include a multiuse games area, exterior complex play spaces, sensory gardens, kitchen gardens, sports fields, and pet walking areas where students may engage in therapeutic sessions with pets.

“The school has been built with the needs of the pupils at its forefront, incorporating a number of features that provide students with specialist support to meet their needs, and we are delighted to have played our part in delivering it.”

Last month, the Building North West business of Galliford Try began construction on a primary school project in Stretford, Manchester, UK.
