The West End in Cincinnati, Ohio, US, is poised to become the site of a new $330m mixed-use entertainment district, with ground-breaking reportedly scheduled for mid-2025.

The project, bolstered by a $26m tax credit from the state of Ohio, will feature amenities such as a concert venue, a hotel, restaurants, bars, apartments, retail, and office spaces, reported WCPO 9 News.

The development, spearheaded by Football Club (FC) Cincinnati, will include two 13-storey towers that are claimed to exceed the height of the club's TQL Stadium by more than 50ft.

This project is expected to open in 2026.

FC Cincinnati president and CEO Jeff Berding was quoted by the news outlet as saying: "Everyone is welcome, regardless of income levels. The sentiment from people in the West End is, we want to have nice things in our neighbourhood."

Among the two towers, one will be an apartment building and the other will be a hotel with some condominiums on top.

The club's officials have drawn parallels between the proposed entertainment hub and other developments near sports venues such as Gallagher Way at Wrigleyville and The Wharf in Washington, D.C.

The project is anticipated to generate approximately 2,102 construction jobs and 1,699 permanent jobs upon completion.

Berding mentioned that while tenant discussions are still in the preliminary stages, the development is moving forward with plans for its various components.

He said: "Those [tenant] conversations will pick up a little bit now that we have the (state tax credit).

“It's going to be brand new. It's going to be very well lit, in terms of having it be an attraction of its own."
