Farrans Construction, a CRH company, has finished a multimillion-pound recladding and remediation project at Beacon Tower in Bristol, UK, ensuring fire safety compliance while maintaining the building's original appearance.

The project was undertaken for Farrans' client 3SIXTY Real Estate, transforming the former commercial office block into a residential building with 44 apartments across seven floors.

The recladding work involved the removal and replacement of the existing exterior HPL cladding and render system.

With more than 80 years of experience in construction and civil engineering, Farrans, which employs over 650 people, said it managed the complexities of the project while minimising disruption to residents.

Farrans project contracts manager Clare Taylor said: "Beacon Tower is an excellent project to add to our portfolio of successfully completed recladding projects in England. Building safety has to be the highest priority and we understand that schemes like this with buildings which are in use can often come with additional complexities.

"For example, throughout this process the Beacon Tower apartments remained occupied, with work completed in a manner which involved very minimal disturbance. We were approved by Homes England to deliver the Beacon Tower recladding scheme.

"We would encourage landlords and property owners to avail of the Cladding Safety Scheme which is accessible to fund the remediation of cladding on high-rise residential buildings. Our team is available to provide expert advice to take your project forward."

Farrans' involvement in the Bristol region extends beyond Beacon Tower, with recent completion of the Keynsham Recycling Hub and ongoing work at Bristol Airport in partnership with Griffiths.

Additionally, Farrans Construction and Inspired Villages have initiated the first phase of the £45m ($58.28m) Widmore Park Village project in Sonning Common, aiming to provide 73 homes for individuals over the age of 65.
