Esh and Accent begin Ripleyville Estate regeneration

Homes at the site are aiming to achieve an EPC A grade for energy efficiency.

December 01 2023

Esh Construction has teamed up with Accent Housing to rehabilitate the former Ripleyville Estate in Bradford, UK, and deliver 73 new affordable housing units.

This regeneration project, which is currently in progress, covers a value of £18m.

It follows the demolition of more than 160 apartments and bungalows last year. The former 1970s Ripleyville Estate redevelopment project aims to transform the landscape of the Bradford community.

This development will emphasise multigenerational living by constructing a range of apartments for affordable rent.

These property types will comprise smaller homes intended for single people or couples in addition to units with up to five bedrooms that can accommodate large family gatherings.

Employing a ‘Fabric First’ approach, all units are designed to be highly energy efficient.

All homes will receive an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) grade of ‘A,’ allowing clients to minimise energy use and thus reduce their overall energy bill costs.

Esh operations director Simon Woodward said: “This contract award marks the first scheme we have delivered with Accent in several years within Yorkshire, demonstrating our continued growth across the region.

“The redevelopment of Ripleyville is of huge significance in the local area and will deliver great benefit to the community for years to come.”
