British real estate builder Esh Construction has announced the completion of a new 82-home affordable housing development project in Wakefield, Castleford, UK.

The business collaborated with housing associations Leeds Federated and WDH to construct the new homes, which are available for rent, rent-to-buy, and shared ownership tenures.

The housing units comprise two-, three-, and four-bedroom floor plans and four bungalows.

Leeds Federated will manage 43 of the 82 residential units, with WDH to manage the remaining 39 units.

The units will feature amenities such as kitchens with integrated appliances, a private, enclosed rear garden, and individual parking areas.

Leeds Federated development head Steve Ellis said: “Completion of this major regeneration project in Castleford has helped provide over 80 good quality affordable homes for rent and sale, predominantly for local people.

"Leeds Federated would like to thank all of the partners involved in helping to make the development of these new homes such a success.”

Brewster Bye Architects designed this project, which was funded by Homes England.

The project converted a 2.2ha plot of vacant grassland on Pemberton Road, which Leeds Federated acquired from Wakefield Council in 2020.

WDH service director for development Ian Penn said: “It has been fantastic to work in partnership with Leeds Federated and Esh Construction to provide more high-quality, affordable homes and regenerate land that was unused and overgrown.”
