Ehvert Mission Critical has merged with the engineering and technical services company Salas O'Brien.

Since 1988, Ehvert Mission Critical has been providing engineering, construction, and operation services for mission-critical facilities and data centres.

It leverages technologies to streamline processes, from initial design through build-out.

This merger strengthens Ehvert's capabilities in engineering services, particularly in virtual design and construction expertise tailored for hyperscale data centres.

It also facilitates seamless integration with Salas O'Brien's suite of electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, renewable energy, and noise mitigation services, addressing the growing demands of AI applications.

Ehvert president Vello Ehvert said: “We are proud to join a future-focused company like Salas O'Brien, continuing the philosophy that formed the basis of Ehvert Mission Critical over 35 years ago.

“We have evolved into a full engineering, construction, and innovation firm, and Salas O'Brien will enhance the energy design and planning solutions we can bring to our clients.”

Salas O'Brien chair and CEO Darin Anderson added: “Vello Ehvert and his team are global leaders in their field.

“Together, we are the most comprehensive provider of innovative, sustainable solutions for hyperscale data centres, addressing the pressing data challenges facing industry and society.”

The combined entity now has a global presence, with more than 3,600 team members in over 90 offices worldwide.

The move is expected to expand service offerings for clients and create enhanced career opportunities for team members.

In finalising the merger, Salas O'Brien received legal counsel from Stradling and Fasken, as well as financial and tax advice from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Meanwhile, Ehvert Mission Critical was guided by AEC Advisors, with legal counsel provided by Lawson & Weitzen and BLG, and financial advice from Ernst & Young.

Earlier this month, Salas O'Brien became an engineering, procurement, and construction partner within Rockwell Automation's PartnerNetwork.
