Egis has announced the acquisition of IB2M, a multidisciplinary design office, to bolster its territorial coverage in France and expand its service offerings.

IB2M, with a workforce of 40 across its five branches, specialises in concrete structures, timber frames, project economics, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, biomass, geothermal energy, and energy efficiency.

It delivers solutions with high environmental value, emphasising renewable energy utilisation and carbon sequestration strategies.

The company supports clients across an array of projects, both new and refurbished, including hospitals, cultural, social, and sports centres, housing, and industrial and commercial buildings, among others.

These projects include the waste recycling centre at Vivier in Aveyron, the Crédit Agricole de l'Aveyron headquarters at Gages, the Institut National Universitaire in Rodez, and more.

IB2M co-managers Arnaud Malgouyres and Emanuel Mercadier said: “Joining Egis is an exceptional opportunity for IB2M. We share a common vision of engineering: independent, it must be innovative and have a positive impact on our territories and our environment.

“This effective merger is a concrete expression of our desire to strengthen the development of our structure by combining the expertise of our local teams with that of a major international group. We look forward to working with the Egis teams to develop ever more ambitious and sustainable projects."

Last month, Egis secured a contract for the Madinah Bus Rapid Transit project in Saudi Arabia.

This project, awarded by the Al Madinah Region Development Authority, forms part of the Pilgrim Experience Program and aligns with the kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives.
