Two new sports stadiums in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, namely Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai Club and Al Wasl Club, have received approval for their architectural designs.

Dubai Crown Prince, Executive Council chair and Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai Club president Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the designs.

The approval is in line with the vision of Rashid Al Maktoum to elevate sports in the country.

It also aligns with Dubai Economic Agenda D33's aim to boost Dubai's status as a sporting hub.

The Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai Club stadium at Al Ruwayyah 3 and the Al Wasl Club stadium at Al Jaddaf will each have a capacity of more than 20,000 spectators.

The Shabab Al-Ahli stadium will have a circular roof supported by moon-like columns.

It will incorporate eco-friendly systems and will be designed to meet the demands of a smart city.

The Al Wasl Club stadium, with its 'city within a city' design, will integrate open spaces.

Its design will also adhere to sustainability and smart city standards, showcasing a progressive approach to stadium construction.

Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Well-Being Pillar commissioner general and Dubai Sports Council vice-chair Mattar Al Tayer said: “This project is set to make a significant contribution to both the sporting community and society at large and play a crucial role in future sports development plans.”

Al Tayer has announced the formation of a dedicated team, including members from various Dubai authorities, to manage the stadium projects.

The team’s immediate responsibility is to appoint a construction company to deliver the project on schedule.
