The special capital district of Jakarta’s (DKI Jakarta) regional government in Indonesia has proposed its plans to construct seven bridges next year.
The estimated value of this project is expected to be Rp144bn ($9.15m) to Rp145bn, reported Antara News.
DKI Jakarta Highways directorate general and Data and Information Center head Wiwik Wahyuni was quoted by the Indonesian news agency as saying: “We are submitting a proposal for the programme with a budget of (around) Rp144 billion for seven bridges.”
The scope of this project consists of the development of three river bridges and four pedestrian bridges.
According to the official, the four pedestrian bridges will be built on Mas Mansyur Street, West Sunter, Dukuh, and the Cililitan Wholesale Center.
Meanwhile, Widya Chandra Bridge, Irigasi Sejajar Bridge, and Cipinang Besar Bridge will be constructed over rivers.
Construction works on Cipinang Besar Bridge are intended to begin in 2025, with the building project's plan required to be completed next year.
Wahyuni further stated that the construction of Cipinang Besar Bridge is part of DKI Jakarta regional government’s 2023-26 Regional Development Plan yearly goal.
Earlier in August this year, the Indonesian government budgeted Rp40.6tn for its future capital city, Nusantara, in East Kalimantan on the island of Borneo.
