DIRTT Environmental Solutions and its construction partner Agile Interiors have received two projects to construct new workplaces for both Bechtel and Apache in Houston, Texas, US.
These projects carry a value of approximately $10m when considered together.
Global construction and engineering company Bechtel had earlier announced its plans to relocate its energy headquarters to support the trending shift to hybrid working.
The 285,500ft² office space, spanning 12 floors, is located at CityWestPlace in Westchase District.
Kirksey Architecture and O’Donnell Sneider designed and contracted the office, respectively.
This new workplace in Houston is scheduled to open by the end of 2023.
Previously, Agile implemented 12 floors of DIRTT's entire solution at Bechtel’s previous 375,000ft² headquarters.
The flexible DIRTT methodology includes solid and glass walls, as well as the company’s modular wiring system.
Apache meanwhile, also intends to move its headquarters next year to further promote employee connectivity.
Designer Gensler and general contractor Harvey-Cleary Builders have been engaged for this project.
DIRTT will deliver glass and solid walls built into office pods to fulfil Apache’s acoustical requirements.
Acoustic laminated glass will be implemented for the glass walls and doors while double-glazed clerestories and glass returns will be used for the solid demising walls.
Other acoustical improvements include double insulation included in solid walls and extra sealing on the vertical sides of all doors.
Magnetic writeable surfaces and fabric-wrapped panels will be used within the office pods.
Agile Architectural Sales' Matthew Cooley said: “Bechtel has been a long-standing client, and their selection of DIRTT and Agile for their new HQ reflects the quality of the system as well as the level of service they’ve received from us over the past ten years.
"We are excited to continue supporting them and to embark on this new journey with Apache, creating a long-term relationship with them as well.”
