The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Philippines has completed the construction of a three-storey health centre in Tondo, Manila.

The Tayabas Health Center, located at Molave Street, Barangay 228, Zone 1, is designed to offer accessible medical services to the area’s residents.

The health centre, which was a project of the DPWH's North Manila District Engineering Office, features 18 rooms and includes spaces for minor surgical procedures, treatment, consultations, and dental care.

Additionally, the medical facility offers X-ray, electrocardiogram, and ultrasound procedures for its patients.

DPWH National Capital Region director Loreta Malaluan said: “This facility will greatly benefit the residents in the area, providing them with quality healthcare services right in their own backyard.”

Additionally, DPWH has announced the completion of additional segments of the Junction Nato-Sabang Coastal Road Project in Camarines Sur.

DPWH secretary Manuel M Bonoan noted that six segments were finished in Barangays Calalahan, Dolo, and Telegrafo in San Jose, and in Barangays Nato and Sto Niño in Sagñay.

Furthermore, a section at the Junction Nato-Sabang Coastal Road in Barangay Nato is 77% complete and is expected to open by the second quarter of 2025.

Since 2022, 792.94 million pesos ($13.55m) have been allocated for the project, which includes bridges, drainage, and slope protection.

Once finished, the road will feature safety measures such as guard rails, thermoplastic pavement markings, signs, and lighting.

Earlier this month, DPWH completed an 89.7m peso road rehabilitation project in Tublay, Benguet, enhancing safety and accessibility in a landslide-prone area.

Last October, meanwhile, the body completed a flood mitigation structure along the Magat River in Barangay Turod.
