Bureau Veritas, a testing, inspection, and certification services company, has acquired The APP Group, an Australian property and infrastructure company.
The acquisition move, which was revealed early last month, is aligned with Bureau Veritas' LEAP | 28 strategy, and aims to expand the company's position in infrastructure and buildings and diversify its portfolio in the regional market.
This strategic move will enhance Bureau Veritas' capabilities in project management assistance, construction management, and independent project verification and certification. The group will also benefit from a scalable regional presence.
Bureau Veritas, headquartered in France, employs 83,000 people across 140 countries.
The APP Group also offers assurance, compliance, independent verification, and certification services, particularly across major transport infrastructure projects in Australia.
Headquartered in Sydney, the group reported €87m ($7.93m) in revenues in 2023.
Bureau Veritas CEO Hinda Gharbi said: “I am delighted to welcome our new colleagues from The APP Group. This is a major step forward in the execution of our LEAP | 28 strategy. The combined expertise of Bureau Veritas and The APP Group is not only strengthening our position in the Australian market but also providing us with a robust and sustainable platform to support B&I [business and industry] services growth in the wider Asia-Pacific region.
“Bringing a team of more than 500 employees and access to a pool of over 200 specialist subconsultants, the integration of The APP Group now establishes our position as a partner of choice to government, infrastructure owners, large corporations and private companies.”
