British Offsite, a division of Weston Group, has received a £1m ($1.27m) contract from Major Housing Association in Dagenham, England, UK.

The company will be responsible for providing an off-site constructed facade for a residential development comprising 91 units on Church Elm Lane, reported the Construction Index

This project will see the installation of 347 panels across eight storeys in a reinforced concrete frame.

British Offsite will employ its UNipanelSFS system, which incorporates 100mm studs and is customised with head shutters, windows, and doors to meet the specifications of Major Housing Association.

These panels are designed to include both internal and external insulation, as well as brick tie channels.

Each panel is constructed using Knauff's weather sheathing board, with Superfill 34 insulation made from recycled glass and dolomite mix, and prefitted with windows and doors.

The adoption of prefabricated panels is anticipated to expedite the construction timeline by an estimated 30%.

British Offsite managing director Shaun Weston said: “Working with Major Housing Association on the Church Elm Lane project is another step forward in our mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and affordable housing.

“By utilising our innovative UNisystem, we are not only accelerating the construction timeline but also ensuring that these new homes meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, also ensuring excellent thermal, acoustic, and fire protection.”

Last year, UK-based Weston Group announced its pledge to reach net-zero carbon for all three greenhouse gas emission scopes across its operations by 2040.

Weston aims to introduce eco-friendly construction and specification features across its residential and mixed-use developments.
