Atwell boosts capabilities with Banks Engineering acquisition 

In past years, Atwell has expanded its reach, services, and capabilities through strategic acquisitions.

US-based construction company Atwell is continuing to strengthen its presence in the state of Florida with the acquisition of BEI Engineering Group (Banks Engineering). 

The financial details of the transaction have not been revealed. 

The new addition is expected to enhance Atwell's resources and capabilities, particularly in the cities of Port Charlotte and Fort Myers.

Atwell senior vice-president Ron Waldrop said: “We’ve worked with the team members at Banks Engineering for years and have first-hand experience of their excellent work and commitment to clients.  

“We have added the outstanding professionals at Banks Engineering to our company because we want to continue investing in this market for the benefit of our clients and the success of their projects.” 

Banks Engineering specialises in civil engineering, planning, and land surveying services across Florida, US. The company was founded in 1992 and currently operates with 90 employees. 

It provides professional services for the entire project life cycle, from the initial concept through to completion and beyond. 

Banks Engineering president Tom Lehnert said: “Banks Engineering and Atwell share similar values, and the merger will allow us to expand our services to better meet the needs of our clients and provide new opportunities for all of our team members.

“We look forward to supporting Atwell’s growth in Florida and the Southeast region [of the US].” 

In recent years, Atwell has increased its geographic presence, service portfolio, and capabilities through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
