The US Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has reselected AtkinsRéalis to provide construction engineering and inspection (CE&I) services.
The contract, valued at $35m, will see the company continue its longstanding partnership with the Georgia DOT, which spans nearly 25 years.
AtkinsRéalis president and CEO Ian Edwards said: “Being awarded a third consecutive contract from the Georgia DOT is a ringing endorsement of our professional services capabilities.
“Our decades-long experience with this client combined with our detailed quality management plans and procedures, enables us to provide Georgia DOT with exceptional value for its investment in critical infrastructure that will address the state's evolving transportation needs.”
The services provided by AtkinsRéalis will encompass construction management, inspection, materials sampling and testing, and contract administration across 17 counties in the Georgia DOT's District 6.
Work will be carried out under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract.
AtkinsRéalis will operate from its Atlanta, US, office, which houses approximately 350 employees.
AtkinsRéalis Minerals & Metals, US, and Latin America president Steve Morriss said: “We are proud to offer a cohesive and talented team with diverse knowledge, expertise and understanding of the needs and priorities in the region.
“Most of our team supporting this contract live in the district, which helps us provide the Georgia DOT with unique perspectives and fosters a true team and trusted partner relationship.”
The company has provided CE&I services to state DOTs and transportation authorities across Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and more.
In January this year, the Bird Construction and AtkinsRéalis joint venture entered into an alliance development agreement with Metrolinx for the construction of a new transit station in Toronto, Canada.
