Artevelde College has teamed up with urban development company Sogent to build a new campus with student housing and a community facility in Oud Dok Zuid in Ghent, Belgium.

Belgium-based housing developer Triple Living developed the design of this project in collaboration with Jan De Nul Group, evr architects, Baukunst, Max Dudler, and other architects.

The shoring works for the site are being provided by foundation specialist Soetaert.

The site emphasises connectivity, both within and with the surrounding area. It will also include an underground parking area for cars and bikes.

A footbridge will connect the two education buildings, which will be 11 and six floors tall, respectively.

Approximately 2,500 students will be able to attend classes, study, and rest as normal in these buildings while administrative offices are planned on the higher levels.

The second building will include 240 student rooms arranged around a central green area.

Aside from students at the college, the building can be occupied by any student in Ghent. Commercial spaces and a youth facility will also be developed on the ground floor.

This campus will have several gathering areas where local people and students can unite.

The project is expected to be completed in 2028.
