UAE-based Al Qandeel Contracting has secured a contract for the main works at the DAMAC Hills 2 master development in Dubai.

Awarded by DAMAC Properties, the contract is worth Dh180m ($49.01m). 

The 55-million-square-foot DAMAC Hills 2 community was launched in 2014 and now accommodates more than 30,000 residents.  

The development follows the launch of DAMAC's first master community, DAMAC Hills, and precedes the launch of the company’s third master development in Dubai, DAMAC Lagoons, in late 2021. 

The main works package involves the construction of 384 villas within the Verona cluster of the master community. 

The Verona cluster will comprise rows of four-bedroom townhouses, with facilities such as water parks and sports activities.  

DAMAC general manager Mohammed Tahaineh said: “Since the launch of Verona in the second half of last year we have seen strong interest in the cluster and community. It gives me great joy to see both demand as well as the progress our second master community has made and continues to grow each day.  

“With a range of new amenities for our residents, including our own Malibu beach and a 'lazy river', we are happy to see the community continuing to attract investors and residents to DAMAC Hills 2.” 

The community also provides a range of other amenities such as an outdoor cinema, a dog park, a petting farm, and jogging and cycling tracks.
