Dar Global, a real estate developer, has awarded the infrastructure contract for the first phase of the AIDA development in Oman to Oman Shapoorji Company.
The AIDA project, a joint venture with Omran Group, is situated 130m above sea level.
In 2022, Omran Group and Dar Al Arkan signed an agreement to develop AIDA within the Yiti Integrated Tourism Development master plan.
Spanning five million square metres, AIDA is designed to offer residential spaces, recreational amenities, outdoor landscapes, dining options, and more.
It is planned to be developed in three phases, with the first phase of the development anticipated to reach completion in 2027.
The latest contract, valued at OR9.34m ($24.27m), encompasses the design and construction of essential infrastructure in the first phase.
This includes the development of roads, water and electricity networks, utility installations, as well as drainage and sewage systems.
Additionally, the contract involves the development of the surrounding road network within the AIDA project.
Dar Global CEO Ziad El Chaar said: “Announcing the infrastructure contract marks a significant step towards realising our ambitious vision for AIDA. We are excited to reach these pivotal stages of the project, which exemplifies our unwavering commitment to elevating Oman's tourism and real estate sectors.
“This contract strategically strengthens our portfolio of luxury developments in prime global locations. AIDA will set new benchmarks for luxury and innovation, reinforcing Oman's position on the global stage.”
The announcement follows Dar Global's unveiling of 'The Astera, Interiors by Aston Martin', a new beachfront residential development in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, this month.
