Construction has commenced on a new nursing home in Cannock, England, UK, designed to cater to adults with complex needs.  

The facility, expected to open in early 2025, will generate approximately 100 new healthcare-related jobs. 

Exemplar Health Care, a healthcare provider, is set to own and operate the new £6m ($7.66m) care home, which will be situated on the former Avon Road car park site.  

UK-based Deeley Construction has been appointed by Exemplar to carry out the development, marking the fourth collaborative project between the two companies. 

The nursing home is designed to support individuals with complex mental health disabilities, neurodisabilities, and physical disabilities.  

It will offer 33 bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. 

The home will be divided into three units, allowing smaller groups to share communal spaces.  

In addition, it will have an activities hub, sensory bathrooms, a therapy room, a hair salon, and an accessible garden.  

Exemplar construction head Paul Simmons said: “This new home will make a huge difference to the lives of working-age adults with care needs living in the local area, enabling them to access high-quality care and support within their local community."  

Cannock Chase District Council Regeneration and High Streets deputy leader and portfolio leader Josh Newbury has expressed his support for the new development.  

The land was previously listed for sale in the Cannock Town Centre Development Prospectus.
