
Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology, a manufacturer of construction machinery, has marked the start of the second phase of its German factory in Waldlaubersheim.
The €50m ($55m) investment will cover an area of 60,000m², marking an upgrade and expansion of the WILBERT TowerCranes facility.
This initiative will enable Zoomlion to manufacture tower cranes, truck cranes, and concrete machinery, aiming to produce more than 1,000 units annually.
Upon full operation, the project is anticipated to generate an output value of approximately $300m, significantly impacting the local economy and fostering industry collaboration.
Zoomlion focuses on integrating technology, products, capital, and industry with the global market.
The company has acquired several businesses such as Powermole, CIFA, m-tec, Raxtar, Ladurner, Wilbert, and Rabe.
Zoomlion stated it has established 400 overseas branches, over 210 service and spare parts warehouses, and its products are available in more than 170 countries and regions.
The company also has 11 overseas production bases in eight countries: Italy, Germany, India, Mexico, Belarus, Brazil, Turkey, and the US.
Zoomlion chair and CEO Zhan Chunxin emphasised that the company aims to foster synergistic development with local industries’ upstream and downstream sectors, supporting regional economic growth.
Chunxin further stated that Zoomlion will expedite the project’s implementation in line with its investment plan, targeting an early commissioning of the facility.
