Construction company YIT has secured a contract with Prysmian Group Finland for warehouse construction and expansion at the company’s submarine cable production site in Kirkkonummi, Finland.
The deal, valued at approximately €35m ($37.51m), will be recorded in YIT’s second-quarter 2024 order book.
Prysmian Group Finland country CEO Ferdinando Quartuccio said: “The contract now signed is a natural continuation of the ongoing cable tower construction project, which has progressed according to plan and on schedule.”
This expansion represents Prysmian Group’s response to the increasing global demand for land and submarine power cables.
It will see the expansion of four existing hall buildings and the construction of a new material warehouse, covering a total area of 26,000m².
The project’s scope includes ground engineering, concrete and steel construction work, as well as the integration of building systems engineering.
