YIT has commenced the construction of Asunto Oy Tampereen Kesätuuli, an environmentally friendly residential apartment building, in the Niemenranta area of Tampere, Finland.
The project, which started last month, is expected to be completed by December 2025.
The value of the construction is estimated at approximately €11m ($11.55m).
Located on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi, the eight-storey apartment building will house a total of 48 apartments, ranging from 29.5m² to 94.5m² in size, and encompassing roughly 3,300 gross square metres.
Every home in Kesätuuli will have a balcony or terrace, with the entire building designed for optimal living comfort. This includes carefully considered floor plans and surface materials.
Additionally, a ventilation unit with heat recovery is being installed in each apartment to ensure high-quality indoor air.

By GlobalDataThe Kesätuuli building will offer a variety of apartments, from studios to spacious four-room family homes. Shared amenities within the building are designed to enhance daily living and provide residents with views of the surrounding park and Lake Näsijärvi.
YIT has ensured that environmental sustainability is at the forefront of the Kesätuuli project.
The building is being constructed to meet energy class A requirements, with geothermal heat for apartment heating and water needs. Solar panels will also be installed to help cover the electricity consumption for both building technology and shared facilities.
During the construction phase, YIT is committed to using only renewable electricity on-site. Measures are in place to sort construction waste effectively and minimise the amount of mixed waste produced.
Furthermore, the company plans to install electric vehicle charging points at all parking spaces on the site.
YIT Pirkanmaa Housing and Business Premises regional director Sami Viitanen said: “We have been developing the Niemenranta residential area on a long-term basis and thanks to the favourable sales situation in the area, we can launch the first project aimed at consumers in more than two years.
“Kesätuuli apartments are of high standard and offer competitively priced homes for those who appreciate modern amenities.”
