Winvic Construction, a multidisciplinary main contractor, has announced the completion of Greenbox Darlington, delivering more than 400,000ft² of sustainable, Grade A logistics and industrial space in the North-East of England, UK.

Greenbox Darlington comprises three industrial units, ranging from 84,000ft² to 213,000ft².

Each unit is claimed to have been designed with a focus on sustainability, achieving net-zero certification alongside an energy performance certificate (EPC) of A and a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) Excellent rating.

Greenbox is a joint venture platform created by Partners Group, a global private markets company, in collaboration with Citivale, a specialist logistics developer and asset manager.

Greenbox also emphasised green supply chain collaboration and other on-site initiatives that contributed to the project’s sustainable credentials.

The project utilised liquid petroleum gas, achieving a 44-tonne carbon dioxide equivalent reduction over a 22-week period.

Strategically located near major transport routes such as the A66 and A1(M) roads, Greenbox Darlington provides access for both national and local occupiers.

The units, marketed by property agents Savills and HTA Real Estate, offer features such as 50m yard depths, providing spaces that can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of individual occupiers.

Citivale CEO James Appleton-Metcalfe said: “We are delighted to have celebrated the official completion of Greenbox Darlington alongside our partners and important local stakeholders.

“Greenbox Darlington embodies our commitment to delivering sustainable, Grade A industrial and logistics space that meets the evolving needs of modern businesses and we are proud to deliver pioneering energy-efficient developments that set new industry standards for environmental responsibility.

“By targeting Net Zero Carbon in Construction and Operation, we have not only reduced emissions, but also empowered our prospective occupiers to operate more sustainably from day one.”

In October 2024, Winvic Construction completed the Newland Lincoln project in the UK, which is the second project under the four-year Lincolnshire County Council highways framework contract.
