Construction firm Willmott Dixon has been awarded a £7.2m extension and refurbishment project for The Priory School in Spalding, Lincolnshire, UK.
The project is part of Lincolnshire County Council’s £86m Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school investment programme.
This is the construction company’s fourth scheme in the region.
The extension and refurbishment project will enable The Priory School to become an all-needs school from an 11-to-19-age ambulant facility.
It will also provide improved specialist facilities to 127 students aged between four and 19 years.
The project will include nine new classrooms, a life skills room, meeting space and ancillary staff facilities, and a new social recreation space.

By GlobalDataWork on the project will also include minor refurbishment of the existing school building to provide adjacent staff spaces, as well as a new plant room.

Our ‘Now or Never’ strategy guides everything we are doing to ensure a greener future and outlines how by 2030 all our new buildings will achieve net-zero operational carbon. At The Priory, we are installing electric vehicle charging stations for onsite teams to travel sustainably.”
Work on the extension and refurbishment project is targeted to complete by 1 September 2022.
Willoughby School in Bourne, Eresby School in Spilsby and St Bernards school in Louth are the three other projects that were recently completed and delivered by Willmott Dixon.
