Hunt Communities, a residential neighbourhood development company, has announced the groundbreaking of its latest project, Verdancia, a ‘premier’ master-planned community in Horizon City, Texas, US.
The development is expected to become a significant landmark in the region, combining residential, commercial, and community spaces.
Spanning 770 acres, Verdancia will offer approximately 2,400 single-family home lots, with homes projected to be available by mid-2026.
The community will also accommodate up to 400 apartment units, with 101 acres set aside for commercial use, creating an environment of housing and business opportunities.
Residents of Verdancia will benefit from a wealth of amenities, including two centres equipped with pools, gyms, tennis courts, and pickleball courts.
Education is also a priority, with two school sites planned on parcels of 22 and 19 acres.
Additionally, the community will feature four to five public parks, green spaces, and walking trails to promote outdoor activities and healthy living.
Horizon City is known as one of the fastest-growing areas in West Texas.
The community will enjoy healthcare access with the Hospitals of Providence’s new 40,000ft² campus, which offers emergency services, inpatient care, and medical expertise.
Local schools such as Horizon Heights Elementary and Horizon High School, along with El Paso Community College, provide educational opportunities. Retail expansion continues with new shops and a variety of dining options.
Verdancia aligns with Hunt Communities’ focus on sustainability and creating spaces where people can thrive. The development is designed to foster a sense of connection through scenic parks, multiuse trails, and outdoor amenities that encourage active lifestyles.
