Veidekke, a Nordic construction company, has been awarded a significant contract by Fornebubanen to construct the new metro stations at Lysaker and Vækerø in Norway.
The contract, valued at approximately Nkr1.8bn ($163.84m) excluding VAT, marks a substantial addition to Veidekke’s portfolio.
The project encompasses comprehensive concrete and platform work, as well as the construction of an access building and technical installations such as escalators, lifts, and technical rooms. Additionally, landscaping around the station areas is included in the contract.
Construction work is scheduled to commence in February 2025, with an anticipated completion date in mid-2028.
This project for Veidekke is being included in the company’s order book for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024.
The Fornebu Line, where the new stations will be located, is a new metro extension running in a continuous tunnel system between Majorstuen and Fornebu. The line is approximately 7.7km long and will feature six new underground stations, including the ones at Lysaker and Vækerø.
