The UK Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), in collaboration with the London Borough of Camden, has launched the Euston Housing Delivery Group.
This group will advise ministers and local leaders on a housing and regeneration strategy for Euston, evaluating growth opportunities and encouraging investment in the region.
The vision encompasses not just housing but also the social infrastructure needed to support new and existing communities, including healthcare, education, and green spaces.
The project is seen as a key contributor to both local housing needs and national economic growth.
In a written statement, Greenwich and Woolwich Member of Parliament and minister for MHCLG Mathew Pennycook said: “However, like many of London’s neighbourhoods, the need for housing in the area around Euston Station far outstrips supply, resulting in higher housing costs, rising levels of overcrowding and workforce pressures.
“To meet the challenges and grasp the opportunities facing this important part of our capital city, bold action is required.”

By GlobalDataBek Seeley, recognised for leading major projects across UK cities, has been appointed to chair the Euston Housing Delivery Group.
The group’s agenda extends to supporting the development of a life sciences district, thereby enhancing the area’s Knowledge Quarter and its contributions to scientific and technological advancements.
The group’s responsibilities will involve evaluating the housing potential beyond the current station site, identifying essential infrastructure and services, and determining the green spaces necessary for maximising housing delivery.
Reportedly, collaboration with the national Department for Transport, the Greater London Authority, and the London Borough of Camden will be crucial in realising these housing opportunities.
The group’s expertise covers urban design, landscape architecture, affordable housing, and financing large-scale projects.
