
Tutor Perini, alongside its joint venture (JV) partner O&G, is nearing the finalisation of a significant contract for the Manhattan Jail Project in New York, US.
The anticipated contract amount stands at $3.76bn, with the project expected to span seven years and three months.
In November 2024, the New York City Department of Design and Construction identified the Tutor Perini and O&G Industries JV as the Apparent Selected Proposer for the new Manhattan Jail Facility in the US.
The project’s scope is to design and construct a state-of-the-art facility, which will include dedicated spaces for on-site services and programming, and indoor and outdoor recreation.
It will also include staff offices and facilities, amenities, below-grade accessory parking, and a secured entry.
The new facility will accommodate 1,040 beds and will offer 125 below-grade parking spaces for staff and service providers.
Additionally, the facility will provide 20,000ft² of community and commercial space on the ground floor.
Tutor Perini, serving as the managing partner in the joint venture with O&G holding a 25% partnership, has collaborated with design partner HOK for this project.
Tutor Perini provides diversified general contracting and design-build services to private customers as well as public agencies.
In August 2024, the company secured a contract from the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation for the City Center Guideway and Stations segment of the Honolulu rail transit project in Hawaii, US.
This design and construction phase is valued at around $1.66bn.
