Infrastructure, engineering, and fit-out company Tilbury Douglas has been contracted by the UK Department for Education to oversee the development of the Shrewsbury Academy Project in Shrewsbury, England, UK.
The scope of this construction project includes the development of a new two-storey science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) teaching block in the centre of the campus.
The new building will also have a separate library and learning resource centre.
Works under the project will include the renovation of the nearby vacant infant school to offer general education services; the development of facilities and space designated for special educational needs and disabilities; and enhanced accessibility across the school with the installation of lifts and ramps.
This will enable the student capacity of the campus to rise from 850 to 1,200.
Tilbury Douglas Midlands Regional Building managing director Simon Butler said: “We look forward to working with other key stakeholders to ensure the new and updated buildings are delivered to the highest quality for Shrewsbury Academy.
