
Thompson Thrift has begun construction of The Gilmore, a 35-acre mixed-use development in Gilbert, a suburb of Phoenix in Arizona, US.
The project will feature 300 luxury apartment homes, a hotel, and an estimated 200,000ft² of supplementary space.
Retailers will be opening at the site in the latter half of 2026 and the first residents will move in early 2027.
Thompson Thrift Development president and CFO Dan Sink said: “This project is a testament to the strength of Thompson Thrift’s One Team approach.
“By leveraging our expertise across construction, residential and commercial development, we plan to deliver a thoughtfully designed destination that enhances the Gilbert community and provides long-term value for residents and businesses alike.”
Set at the north-west corner of Val Vista Drive and Germann Road, near Loop 202, the project is centrally positioned in the Southeast Valley.

By GlobalDataOver 25 leases have already been signed, including a 64,000ft² Safeway and a variety of retail establishments such as Better Buzz Coffee and Handel’s Ice Cream, stated the company.
The Residences at The Gilmore will offer a range of studio to three-bedroom apartments, with an average size of 1,000ft².
Construction on this multifamily residential segment is set to begin later this year.

Thompson Thrift is developing in Arizona, with projects such as Elliot Tech Center in Mesa and South Bridge Marketplace in Maricopa.
In December 2023, Thompson Thrift announced a new 380-unit Class A multifamily community in Rockledge, Central Florida, US.
