Trimble has introduced the latest version of its structural building information modelling (BIM) software, Tekla Structures, featuring AI-powered improvements and enhanced collaboration tools.
The 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds, its automated civil and structural analysis calculation software, allow comprehensive design-to-detail workflow.
They offer an enhanced user experience and expanded design capabilities for an optimised design collaboration experience.
The updated solutions aid collaboration between various software solutions such as Trimble SketchUp, Autodesk Revit, and Tekla Structures.
Trimble said these integrations enable structural engineers to reuse information and share and analyse models more efficiently to improve the engineer’s productivity and accuracy.
The enhanced integration with the IDEA StatiCa structural analysis software further simplifies the process, offering detailed connection design within the Tekla environment, according to Trimble.
Tekla Structural Designer 2025 also provides a new integration with Structural PANDA, enabling UK-based structural engineers to undertake rapid carbon evaluations in the preliminary design stage.
Trimble Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds product manager David Sanderson said: “Trimble supports its customers in their quest to collaborate, construct and deliver with confidence.
“The enhancements in the 2025 versions of Tekla Structural Designer and Tekla Tedds streamline the design process by bridging the worlds of architecture and engineering, supporting teamwork around shared design data while ensuring maximum productivity.”
The new AI-powered Trimble Assistant for Tekla is available as a web app in Tekla User Assistance, providing answers to users’ questions on several Tekla products.
In October 2024, Caterpillar and Trimble announced the extension of their joint venture, focused on enhancing grade control technologies in the construction sector.
