Construction is underway on Sunrise Village, a new affordable housing project in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood of east Vancouver, Canada.

This initiative, located at 2924 Venables Street, aims to create 146 affordable homes for older residents, families, and people with disabilities.

The project is a collaborative effort involving the federal government, the provincial government of British Columbia (BC), the City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, and Brightside Community Housing.

Replacing an older building that contained 64 apartments, the two new structures at Sunrise Village will offer a range of affordable rental options.

Brightside Community Homes Foundation CEO William Azaroff stated that the community is being designed to be multigenerational.

Sunrise Village is being constructed to meet Passive House certification standards, with completion expected in 2026.
