American real estate and construction company Suffolk has broken ground on the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River, Massachusetts, US.
The ground-breaking ceremony was hosted by the company in collaboration with the Greater Fall River Vocational School District (GFRVSD) and School Building Committee.
The new facility is designed to offer an improved student experience and to benefit the school’s four sending communities of Westport, Swansea, Somerset, and Fall River.
Suffolk Northeast Region general manager Keith Couch said: “This cutting-edge facility will allow Diman to continue to provide an unparalleled technical vocational education experience, connecting students with their passions and subsequently unlocking career paths that build the foundation for the success of the future workforce.”
The school was originally constructed for 800 students in the 1960s. The new building is expected to accommodate approximately 1,500 students in grades nine through 12.
It will feature a large entry plaza, a gymnasium, an auditorium, and special education areas, among other updates and shops in various classes.
