This development marks a step in enhancing the adoption of public transportation to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and strengthening connectivity within Newark and Elizabeth.  

The AirTrain system allows seamless movement for customers and employees between terminals, parking areas, and car rental facilities, currently serving an average of 33,000 passengers daily. 

The project is set to replace the existing AirTrain, which is said to be at the end of its operational lifespan, with a new system that can cater to the growing number of passengers using the service.
