By GlobalDataThis project is divided into three phases – feasibility study (Phase 0), design (Phase 1) and production (Phase 2).
Skanska’s participation in the feasibility study has offered it an advantage to leverage its experience in the initial stages of the project.
Work on the first phase will commence in August.
The second phase is aimed to start next year autumn.
The emergency hospital is anticipated to finish in 2029.
Earlier this month, Skanska secured a contract from the Virginia Port Authority to redevelop 72 acres of the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Portsmouth, Virginia, US.
The contract is worth $223m (SEK2.3bn).
Skanska will include this contract in the US order bookings for Q3 2022.
This project will see almost 72 acres of the 287-acre Portsmouth Marine Terminal being redeveloped for use as an offshore wind staging port, which in turn will enhance 1,500ft of the current 3,540ft wharf.
The marine terminal redevelopment supports the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project.
CVOW is claimed to be the largest offshore wind project of its kind in the country.
Construction has started in July this year, with the project slated for completion in 2025.
