The programme management and consulting group within Skanska USA Building has been chosen by the City of St. Petersburg to act as the owner’s representative for the redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant property in Florida, US.

This $6.5bn project includes the construction of a new Major League Baseball (MLB) stadium for the Tampa Bay Rays team.

The redevelopment plan encompasses an 86-acre site, aiming to create eight million square feet of new space.

It will introduce affordable housing, hotels, office and retail spaces, as well as a new location for the Woodson African American Museum of Florida.

Skanska USA Building, in the capacity of the city’s owner’s representative, will oversee a range of project management services.

These include design reviews, project accounting, and management of the redevelopment’s comprehensive milestone schedule.
