Limerick City & County Council has confirmed that the Sisk Sorensen joint venture (JV), comprising John Sisk & Son and Sorensen Civil Engineering, will construct the Adare Bypass in the Republic of Ireland.

The project is set to be formally awarded by the end of 2024, pending approvals. It is being expedited to be ready for golf’s Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027. The council is delivering the project in collaboration with Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

The Adare Bypass is a critical infrastructure project designed to alleviate traffic congestion in the village of Adare by rerouting extraneous through traffic.

This development forms part of the larger Foynes to Limerick Road project, which spans 35km and is essential for the strategic growth of Shannon Foynes Port and the Mid-West region.

The bypass is also seen as key for the safety of Adare residents.

Sisk Ireland Civils managing director Will Merriman said “We’re excited to announce that Sisk, in partnership with Sorensen, has secured the contract for the Adare Bypass.
