The construction of Regina General Hospital (RGH) parkade in Saskatchewan, Canada, has reached 80% completion.

This project is scheduled to continue over the next two months with crews focusing on electrical systems installations and interior finishes.

The four-level parkade will offer a total of 1,005 parking spaces, with 873 within the structure and 132 on the surface, resulting in a net parking stalls increase of 686.

Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) CEO Andrew Will stated that the facility aims to deliver an accessible, convenient, and safe parking environment for both patients and staff.

Saskatchewan Health Minister Everett Hindley said: “We are very excited to see the new parkade nearing completion, and patients, visitors and staff will soon have a safe and convenient parking option at Regina General Hospital.

“Our government is committed to addressing the concerns of health care workers and I personally want to extend my appreciation for their continued patience during construction.”

Expected to open in late 2024, construction of the project is led by Link Developments.

Link Developments CEO Carmen Lien said: “As we celebrate reaching the 80% completion milestone of the parkade, each step forward brings us closer to enhancing Regina’s infrastructure and keeps us on track for anticipated completion in late 2024.

“This project is a shining testament to the strong partnership between our team, Sask Builds, and SHA. I am profoundly grateful for the dedication and expertise of everyone involved. This parkade is far more than just a structure, it is a foundation for future growth and a beacon of improved accessibility for our community.”

To date, the government has committed C$22.4m ($16.6m) to the construction.
