UK-based real estate developer Related Argent has secured planning permission from Barnet Council for the second building in its latest commercial zone at Brent Cross Town, London, UK.

Architect Bennetts Associates has designed the new nine-storey, mass-timber office building in the zone, named 2 Copper Square.

The building will be delivered using an engineered timber frame and off-site manufacturing and construction methods.

It is located adjacent to the newly opened Claremont Park, as well as two new public squares that will both serve as a gateway to the remaining part of the neighbourhood.

The new building has 138,000ft² of office space spread across eight floors, alongside a common roof deck.

The ground level has a walkway connecting the main office entrance to a 7,000ft² food and beverage venue.

Brent Cross Town development director Matt Flood said: “Brent Cross Town represents an incredible opportunity to be part of a whole new London neighbourhood – and one that is 12 minutes from King’s Cross by train run as net zero, and with an amazing mix of sport and play, green spaces, education and culture.

“2 Copper Square will offer an amazing opportunity for a business to make a tangible statement about their own ESG [environmental, social, and governance] commitments and values.”

The development at Brent Cross Town continues, with five buildings currently under construction, comprising residential and student accommodation, along with related infrastructure and amenities.

Brent Cross Town is a three million square foot business district and is located close to the new Brent Cross West train station. It is said to be Europe’s largest urban regeneration project.

The first residents of the newly built units in the mixed-use neighbourhood will move in by the end of next year.
